I jog in the morning. But
when I'm free & sometimes go for evening walk, I see people jogging. That
leaves a question in my mind:
If you're looking for regularity in your jogging & want a general fitness level, morning jog will be a good choice. With this, you can easily schedule your strength exercises in the evening. If you're looking for an extra spice, want to do sprinting, improve your jogging times then evening jog will be the best choice. Also if you're doing one type of jogging & want to shift to other, it can be done. Our body is good at adapting to any change.

- What is the best time to jog?
- What are the benefits of morning jog & that of
evening jog?
- Regularity: With evening time there
is always a chance of some appointment to come up which will interrupt the
jogging routine. But with the morning jog, it happens at start of the day.
So it's bit easy to maintain a regular jogging routine.
- Cool
weather / Fresh Air: Morning atmosphere is cool & air contains high
percentage oxygen compared to other times of the day. Isn't it good when
the body gets good amount of oxygen?
- Less
Traffic:
If you like to jog on roads, doing a morning jog naturally implies
lesser traffic which also means less pollution in the morning.
- Early
Rising:
When we rise early we feel few extra hours has been added to our day when
we continue with the day's work. If we can get into the habit of morning
jog, early rising will become natural for us.
- Total
blood usage in running: As we know food digestion requires blood; also during
jogging our legs & heart use most blood. If we do jogging after
2-3 hours of eating, sufficient blood won't be available for jogging &
neither for digestion.
- Good
Fat Loss:
When we do morning jog, the gap between meal & jog is 10 hours. We get
energy from 2 sources in our body: Carbohydrates (gives instant energy)
& Fat (gives stored energy). Due to 10 hours interval our
carbohydrates are mostly used up. So, while jogging body uses FAT as the
primary source of energy. Fat loss = Weight loss :)
- Sweating
cleanses skin:
Sweating due to jogging will clean the skin & skin feels charming for
the whole day. A good tip for women.
- Marathon
Practicing:
Many of us want to take part in marathons or some kind of races. Marathons
take place in the morning. If we already do morning jog, our body is
already suited & prepared for this morning activity.
- No
Excuse of I can't wake up: No problem of waking up early to go for a jog. It
becomes like a every other task we do in our waking hours.
- Scientific
reasons:
- Our body warmest between 4 PM - 7 PM. Warm body
supports physical activities.
- Testosterone hormone at it's peak during evening. It's
primary hormone responsible for muscle building. Along with jogging
benefits if you'd also like to build some muscle strength then
evening jog can be done.
3. Jogging with Partners: Jogging
with partners can give extra motivation. At evening it's more likely to find a
jogging partner. Jogging with a partner will add a little more fun.
So what should you do?
Morning jog or Evening Jog?If you're looking for regularity in your jogging & want a general fitness level, morning jog will be a good choice. With this, you can easily schedule your strength exercises in the evening. If you're looking for an extra spice, want to do sprinting, improve your jogging times then evening jog will be the best choice. Also if you're doing one type of jogging & want to shift to other, it can be done. Our body is good at adapting to any change.
